For over 20 years, I've worked with women in clinic and noticed the same pattern emerging in midlife: declining muscle strength, postural changes, recurring neck and shoulder tension, joint pain, and a gradual loss of confidence in movement.
Then a family wake-up call brought it even closer to home. My mum was diagnosed with osteoporosis, and as my sisters and I moved through perimenopause and post-menopause ourselves, I became increasingly aware of how important strength and bone health are for women.
My sister bought me a weighted vest for Christmas to help me build a simple strength habit. But when I put it on, it felt completely wrong. It was bulky, uncomfortable across my breasts, sat heavily on my shoulders, and felt like it had been designed for a man's body, not a woman's.
As someone who had spent decades treating neck and shoulder tension, I couldn't understand why women were being asked to wear strength tools that added even more strain.
So I set out to create something better.
A weighted vest designed specifically for women. One that aligns with the female centre of gravity, keeps weight away from the breasts, neck and shoulders, and feels supportive, comfortable and feminine to wear.
Vestie was born from the belief that women deserve strength tools designed for women.
Because strength doesn't need to look aggressive to be effective. It just needs to fit into real life.
